Use Case: Set Up Profit Sharing

You can configure splits for income, expenses, or both with a Merchant or group by setting up Profit Sharing. Profit Sharing allows any income or expense to be split between entities. This tutorial will walk you through the steps to set up a new profit share for an individual Merchant and a group.

Set Up a Profit Share

Set Up a Profit Share for a Group of Merchants

1. Open the Group Profile

  • Step 1: Click GROUPS in the left-hand navigation panel to open the Groups page.

  • Step 2: Locate the group in the table and click on any information in the table row to open the Group Profile page.

2. Add a Profit Share to the Group Profile

  • Step 1: Click PROFIT SHARES in the list of tabs on the left-hand side of the page.

  • Step 2: Click the ADD PROFIT SHARE button in the upper right-hand corner of the page to open the Add a Profit Share lightbox on the page.

  • Step 3: Select the type of profit share from the Type drop-down menu. Choose from the following:

    • Income

    • Expense

    • Both

  • Step 4: Enter a percentage amount in the Amount field.

  • Step 5 (Optional): Enter a name for the new profit share in the Name field.

  • Step 6: Select the user ID for the profit-sharing entity from the Login drop-down menu. This is the user ID that is used by the profit-sharing entity to log in to the portal.

  • Step 7 (Optional): Enter a description of the new profit share in the Description field.

  • Step 8: Click ADD to save the new profit share.

  • Result: The new profit share is now active and visible in the group profile Profit Shares tab.

Set Up a Profit Share for an Individual Merchant

1. Open the Merchant Profile

  • Step 1: Click MERCHANTS in the left-hand navigation panel to open the Merchants page.

  • Step 2: Locate the Merchant in the table and click on any information in the table row to open the Merchant Profile page.

2. Add a Profit Share to the Merchant Profile

  • Step 1: Click PROFIT SHARES in the list of tabs on the left-hand side of the page.

  • Step 2: Click the ADD PROFIT SHARE button in the upper right-hand corner of the page to open the Add a Profit Share lightbox on the page.

  • Step 3: Select the type of profit share from the Type drop-down menu. Choose from the following:

    • Income

    • Expense

    • Both

  • Step 4: Enter a percentage amount in the Amount field.

  • Step 5 (Optional): Enter a name for the new profit share in the Name field.

  • Step 6: Select the user ID for the profit-sharing entity from the Login drop-down menu. This is the user ID that is used by the profit-sharing entity to log in to the portal.

  • Step 7 (Optional): Enter a description of the new profit share in the Description field.

  • Step 8: Click ADD to save the new profit share.

  • Result: The new profit share is now active and visible in the Merchant profile Profit Shares tab.
